SUMMARY:Applying QDA and Grounded Theory to Social Science Research
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nGrounded theory is a qualitative data analysis (QDA)
approach in which the researcher seeks to develop theory from component
parts of data that they have collected. This data often appears as
“unquantifiable data” and speaks to experiences\, memories\, and
emotions that participants relayed to the researcher. The researcher then
attempts to piece together patterns from disconnected data. In this
session\, we will hear from a graduate student on how they are using
grounded theory in their own QDA and research\, what this process looks
like\, and what some of the challenges they face in this approach
are.\n\n*Please watch for a reminder email three hours before the workshop
which will contain the zoom link.
