Exploring US Census Data in R

Exploring US Census Data in R

This two-hour workshop provides an overview of the United States Census, and related data products (i.e. the American Community Survey). Our focus will be on accessing, analyzing, and visualizing Census data using R Studio (in particular, through R's "tidycensus" package). The workshop does not presuppose any prior experience with the Census, or with data analysis in R, so all are welcome! Registrants should download R and R Studio, as well as obtain a Census API key, before the start of the workshop. Please consult the following for assistance with downloading R and R Studio (https://rstudio-education.github.io/hopr/starting.html). You can register for a Census API key at this link: https://api.census.gov/data/key_signup.html. If you need additional assistance with downloading R and R Studio, or with acquiring a Census API key, please reach out to CRDDS.
