Connecting Community and Culture: Circles of my Self

This workshop will engage participants in a circle activity to consider the most important dimensions of our ‘American’ (or other) identities. We will examine stereotypes as participants share stories about when they were proud to be part of a particular group and when it was especially hurtful to be associated with a particular group. This session is for anyone interested in learning more about American Like Me and the CU community. You are invited to attend whether or not you’ve read American Like Me

This workshop is part of a four part series, Connecting Community and Culture, which invites community engagement with the 2021 Buffs One Read. Members of the CU Boulder community are invited to attend any or all of the sessions. You are invited to attend whether or not you’ve read American Like Me. All materials, readings, and supplies will be provided during the workshop.

Join us in the exploration of the narratives and themes collected in America Ferrera's American Like Me: Reflections on Life Between Cultures.
