Connecting Community and Culture: Mindful Reading Practice of America Ferrera excerpt

This workshop focuses on an excerpt from our Buffs One Read book, American Like Me: Reflections on Life Between Cultures by America Ferrera. During our time together, we will introduce ourselves to the book and reorient to a slower reading practice. We will share responses not with an aim of expertise, but instead with the aim of listening to ourselves and one another. This session is for anyone interested in learning more about American Like Me and contemplative reading techniques.

This workshop is part of a four part series, Connecting Community and Culture, which invites community engagement with the 2021 Buffs One Read. Members of the CU Boulder community are invited to attend any or all of the sessions. You are invited to attend whether or not you’ve read American Like Me. All materials, readings, and supplies will be provided during the workshop.

Join us in the exploration of the narratives and themes collected in America Ferrera's American Like Me: Reflections on Life Between Cultures.
