Dissertations and Theses: Common Copyright and Fair Use Questions

Dissertations and Theses: Common Copyright and Fair Use Questions

What do I need to be concerned about when using material from other publications in my dissertation/thesis? How can I reuse material from my dissertation for publications, or vise versa? Do I need to register copyright for my dissertation/thesis? Should I share my dissertation/thesis publicly, and how do I go about sharing it? If you’ve asked yourself any of these questions, this workshop will explore copyright, fair use principles, and publisher policies in order to help you to make important decisions about your own dissertation or thesis. This workshop is co-sponsored by the Center for Research Data and Digital Scholarship and The Graduate School.
