Introduction to ArcGIS

ArcGIS is the industry standard for GIS in public, private, and academic spheres. In this workshop, Phil White will discuss basic GIS concepts and lead participants through hands-on excercises using Esri's ArcGIS software. Participants will create a map and perform some basic geoprocessing analysis techniques. Phil will also discuss the Esri's transition from ArcMap to the company's new GIS desktop software, ArcGIS Pro. Attendees will have hands-on time with both ArcMap (the current industry standard) and ArcGIS Pro (the future industry standard) applications. Laptops with requisite software applications will be provided. Participants may also bring a personal laptop with ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Pro installed which are free to CU faculty and staff (students may contact Phil White for a free student license). ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro only works on Windows operating systems.
