Make and Makefiles

When working on HPC clusters users will often need to download and build open source software and libraries (or they may want to develop their own open source software). Such packages are typically built with the unix “make” command, which operates on a “Makefile” that contains the necessary parameters to compile the source code. This module will provide an introduction to make and Makefiles including hands-on examples with Fortran and C++.

Attendees should have a basic knowledge of Linux as a prerequisite. Please bring a laptop with a Secure Shell (SSH) client software installed on it to each session.
