Text Analysis with Topic Modelling

This workshop is the third in a series of digital humanities workflow classes. We will introduce the text mining technique of topic modelling, a way to macroscopically read texts, with a focus on important affordances and limitations of topic modelling as a research method. Learners will become familiar with the use of MALLET, a commonly used topic modelling program used in computational and digital humanities research.

Attendees for this workshop are required to download and install MALLET before the workshop. MALLET can be found here. A helpful installation guide can also be located here. If you are having difficulties with the installation process, please visit CRDDS consultation hours at 12-2PM Tuesdays or email us at crdds@colorado.edu to schedule a meeting.
