R Workshop Series: Introduction to R

R Workshop Series: Introduction to R

This 2-hour workshop will serve as an introduction to programming in R and is the first of a multi-part R workshop series. We will learn the basics of how to import, tidy, explore, and manipulate data, using the power of the “Tidyverse”. If time permits, we will also cover basic data visualization techniques. Please attend the workshop “Data Visualization in R” for further study of data visualization.

We encourage participants to bring their own dataset to use during the workshop. Please make sure that your data is saved in a single sheet with a .csv or .xlsx (Excel) file extension.

Prerequisites: Minimal coding experience preferred, but open to all levels. Please have R, RStudio, and the tidyverse package installed on a personal laptop. We recommend attending "R, Level Zero" on 10/3 at 3-5p, or visiting our consult hours, if you need assistance with set-up.

** Please enter your name on the waitlist if we reach capacity. We may offer an additional session or move to a larger room depending on interest. **
