Introduction to ArcMap

Introduction to ArcMap

ArcMap, the industry standard GIS software application, is the principal feature of ESRI’s ArcGIS for Desktop software suite. In this workshop, Phil White will orient participants to ArcMap and walk through basic GIS procedures such as adding data and styling a simple map. Phil will also introduce basic spatial analysis techniques and geoprocessing tools in ArcMap. Laptops with requisite software applications will be provided. Participants may also bring a personal laptop with ArcGIS Desktop installed, which is free to CU faculty and staff (students may contact Phil White for a free student license). ArcGIS Desktop only works on Windows operating systems.
