Basics of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Many people have heard of GIS but are not quite sure what it’s all about. This workshop is for anyone interested in a basic primer in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Phil White will provide an overview of GIS tools and concepts including spatial data structures and formats, projections and coordinate systems, basic analysis techniques, and popular software applications. Participants will have hands-on time working with ArcGIS Online. This is the most basic workshop in the series and is best for absolute beginners. Laptops with requisite software applications will be provided.
