Introduction to R

This 1 hour workshop is an introduction to coding in R. We will learn what R is, how to execute commands, and create objects. We will practice the basic functions useful to create a data frame, and will learn how to explore and manipulate this data frame. We will also review some of the common coding errors in this. Finally, we will create a .csv file with our new data frame and read it back into R.

Prerequisites: No prior coding experience necessary, but need to have R (https://www.r-project.org/) and RStudio (https://www.rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/) installed and the ‘intro_R.R’ R script downloaded from our OSF site (https://osf.io/nb9v7/). All participants need to bring a laptop.

Location: Gemmill Library MATH 150.
