Introduction to R

This 2 hour workshop is an introduction to coding in R and is the first of a 4-part Spring 2018 semester R workshop series. We will learn what R is, how to execute commands, and create objects. We will practice the basic functions useful to create a data frame, and will learn how to explore and manipulate this data frame. We will also review some of the common coding errors in this. Finally, we will create a .csv file with our new data frame and read it back into R. The last half hour of the workshop is dedicated to working with your own data using these skills.

Prerequisites: No prior coding experience necessary, but need to have R and RStudio installed and the ‘intro_R.R’ R script downloaded from our OSF site (https://osf.io/6jb9t/). All participants need to bring a laptop and option to bring your own data.
