RESILIENCE: International Research Infrastructure for Religious Studies

The Center for Research Data & Digital Scholarship (CRDDS) is pleased host a talk by Prof. Herman Selderhuis, “Smart Tools, FAIR Data and Easy Access: RESILIENCE as unique research infrastructure for religious studies”. The talk will take place Friday, 3 November 2023, 10-11am, online and in Norlin Library N210B, on the CU Boulder campus. Light refreshments will be provided.

Abstract: RESILIENCE is a new European interdisciplinary and invigorating research infrastructure for Religious Studies. Thirteen European institutions have created a consortium that addresses the challenge of creating a larger, structured involvement of scholars who innovatively produce competencies, knowledge, approaches, and impact within the scientific domain of Religious Studies. RESILIENCE is listed in the ESFRI Roadmap 2021 and has received funding from the European Commission for its Preparatory Phase (2022-2026). It is building a high-performance platform to supply high quality tools and big data to scholars from all the scientific disciplines, crossing religions.

Prof. Herman Selderhuis is professor of church history at the Theological University Apeldoorn (the Netherlands), President of the European Academy of Religion www.europeanacademyofreligion.org, President of the Reformation Research Consortium (REFORC, www.reforc.com) and one of the initiators of RESILIENCE www.resilience-ri.eu.
