GIS and Python: Working with Vector Data Using GeoPandas

GIS and Python: Working with Vector Data Using GeoPandas

Geopandas is a powerful Python library for manipulating vector GIS data (shapefiles and similar). In this workshop, Phil White, the Earth, Environment, and Geospatial Librarian, will lead participants through step-by-step fundamental GIS-programming exercises. We will cover reading and writing files, manipulating and filtering data, and creating visualizations. Some Python experience is useful, but not required. No software installation will be necessary, but bring your own laptop.
