This 2 hour workshop is an introduction to statistics in R and is the third of a 4-part Fall 2017 semester R workshop series. During the first hour, we will use the same dataset used in the first workshops to decide on appropriate relationships to examine. We will learn how to implement commonly used basic statistical tests (e.g., t-tests, linear regression), and learn how to check their underlying assumptions. We will also learn how to visualize and interpret the results, and review some common errors in statistics. We will spend the second hour practicing these skills on a dataset of our own. Prerequisites: R and RStudio installed, knowledge of data manipulation and basic plotting in R. All participants need to bring a laptop; option to bring own dataset.
