Introduction to R

This 2 hour workshop is an introduction to coding in R and is the first of a 4-part Fall 2017 semester R workshop series. During the first hour, we will start with the software and RStudio installation, and then learn to load a data file comprised of numerical and text data. We will practice the basic functions useful to explore a dataset, learn how to manipulate the dataset, and review some common errors in data manipulation. We will spend the second hour practicing these skills on a dataset of our own.

Prerequisites: no prior coding experience necessary.

All participants need to bring a laptop; option to bring own dataset.
